Task 3

Being The Change:

As you know by now I am part of Team 2 at the KaosPilots school in The Netherlands. I initially found the school through a magazine article about 'the best school for the world' in Ode Magazine, about a year and a half ago. I became very intrigued by it and wanted to find out more. After researching online and talking with some of the people involved I decided to apply.

The school originated in Denmark over 15 years ago and it has now spread throughout scandinavia. Recently a new school in The Netherlands has been created. I chose this branch in particular because it is a brand new location with lots of opportunity for change and improvement. We are literally building the school from the ground up, and it is an exciting challenge to say the least.

My involvement in the KaosPilots so far has influenced my life in ways I never thought possible, and I continue to learn about myself and others on a daily basis. One of my main motivations for choosing this education is to build a solid foundation from which to launch my dreams. We focus mainly on business design with a strong emphasis on social innovation.

In the past I have done some volunteer work around the globe, but nothing of this nature and magnitude. I am definitely up for the challenge and very much willing to do what's necessary to be a contribution to the project. I hope to work together with you in the near future and wish to thank you for this opportunity.

Task 2

My Purpose:

I wish to take part in the Warriors Without Weapons 2009 Program because I feel strongly inspired by this project and what it stands for. I want to contribute while working closely with other highly motivated and passionate individuals. If I am accepted into this program I intend to make the most of this opportunity and do my best to make it a meaningful experience.

My Commitment:

After returning home from the Warriors Without Weapons I will return to the KaosPilots school in The Netherlands to continue my studies. There, I intend to implement the skills I have learned to further contribute at the local level in my community. I truly believe that my involvement in this program will better enable and support me in my quest to create positive change in society.

My Action:

I see this as an opportunity to achieve greater self-knowledge and a deeper connection to the world and those around me. I want to be challenged in a way that will allow me to grow as an individual and continue to strive towards making the world a better place. Through this experience, which I trust will be one of mutual joy and empowerment, I also hope to gain a better understanding of human needs and how to meet them in a larger scale.

Task 1

Presently, at this point in my life, I am curious, open and ready to explore.  I have a strong desire to excel in everything I do, while learning, contributing and having lots of fun in the process.

I am extremely grateful to be alive, and ready to share all my gifts with the world. 

My professional doubts are mainly focused around personal assertiveness.  From time to time I ask myself: Am I leading to the best of my abilities?  Am I willing to take the first step? Do I assert myself? Often enough, the answer is a bold Yes. 

My dreams are ever evolving, and simply stated I have many (not carved in stone.)  The basic feeling is that I am here to give and receive while embracing all as myself in this amazing game I call Life on Planet Earth.  As a man amongst men, I am a generous man.  Beyond this, I dream of a world of peace, unity and understanding where freedom and equality prevail. 

My challenges right now are all around me, and they are what keep me moving and make my life interesting.  There is no challenge that cannot be transcended.  Some of my own include overcoming a tendency towards self-importance (taking myself too seriously), letting go of the need to argue semantics (playing with words & concepts), and dissolving preconceived notions about myself and others (making assumptions). 

Introduction

Hello, my name is Ieshu Vicente. I was born on December 25, 1985 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In December of 1998 I moved to Santa Barbara, California with my family. At the moment I live in the city of Rotterdam in The Netherlands.

Recently, I became part of a new business school called KaosPilots. We learn by doing and work from our passions. All of our projects involve solving real problems for real clients.

Here at KaosPilots we (the students) play a major role in deciding the course of our education. Much self-initiative and creativity is needed for this, and it is in this way that we meet our challenges, with strength and determination.
